INSTITUTO ALBERTO MARTÍNEZ ORTEGA (IAMO) ENTREPRENEURSHIP AWARDS
Art. 1 · ORGANIZER
The Alberto Martínez Institute (IAMO) (Grupo Carinsa) is committed to working on health and well-being, in a world that offers us resources for research and innovation, which we must care for and protect. Our mission is to generate new ideas, inspire others, and promote individuals and society through ethical and socially responsible management. As an institute, we aim to raise awareness about the enormous responsibility we all have towards society and the environment.
Art. 2 · OBJECTIVES
Aligned with the mission of IAMO (Grupo Carinsa), the awards aim to recognize those projects, startups, or individuals who stand out for their contribution to the development and innovation of Carinsa, its products, and its customers.
Art. 3 · CATEGORIES
The awards are structured into the following categories:
NUTRITION AND HEALTH: Startups working on consumer well-being; improving nutritional profiles; raw materials with new functionalities; innovations in new nutrients, health through cosmetics, and nutrition.
SUSTAINABILITY AND CIRCULAR ECONOMY: Startups working in food and cosmetics with sustainability in mind: new extraction models, biofermentations, material recovery, biodegradable packaging, and processes impacting the circular economy and microplastic elimination.
DISRUPTION, SENSATIONS, EMOTIONS: Startups with disruptive and technological initiatives centered on emotions, sensations, and the world of the senses.
Art. 4 · APPLICATIONS AND GOVERNANCE
Any person, partner, or institution that considers its proposals meet the award criteria can present candidates for the aforementioned categories. Jury members may not submit applications.
The Director of the Awards will analyze the submitted applications with a technical team from Carinsa and assess their alignment with the established criteria. They will select three nominees for each category.
The winners for each category will be determined by a jury. The results of the deliberations will be made public during the awards ceremony.
Art. 5 · DEADLINES, SUBMISSION FORMAT, AND NECESSARY DOCUMENTATION
Applications must submit a document of up to two pages explaining why they are presenting the application. Additionally, a PowerPoint presentation should be provided outlining the proposed model, product, service, process, objectives, value added, technology used, etc.
Additional documentation can be submitted if necessary, including support and endorsements for the application and any information that strengthens the proposal, justifying its merit for the IAMO Awards.
This documentation should be sent electronically to IAMO at premios@institutoalbertomartinez.com, with the subject: "Candidature for Entrepreneurship Awards". The application deadline is May 27, 2025, at 14:00 (CEST).
Art. 6 · APPLICATIONS
Applications that do not meet the above requirements will not be accepted.
Art. 7 · EVALUATION CRITERIA
Applications will first be evaluated by a technical committee, and after an initial selection, by the Director of the Awards or designated representatives. The director may request additional documentation before the jury meeting. Evaluation will be based on established qualitative and quantitative criteria, including:
Innovation: Value added through creativity in ingredients, processes, and products.
Differentiation: Unique qualities that make the proposal stand out.
Impact: The potential for positive transformation within Carinsa, its customers, and end consumers.
Talent: Passionate and energetic individuals willing to create and learn, with a clear purpose.
ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance): Commitment to the planet, society, and biodiversity, focusing on sustainability, waste, water, and air.
Scoring Tool:
A scoring model will prioritize projects based on various factors weighted according to the criteria outlined above.
Art. 8 · JURY - CODE OF CONDUCT - DESIGNATION AND CONSTITUTION
The Entrepreneurship Awards jury consists of 4 to 8 external experts, selected for their experience in the evaluation fields. The jury will have a director and a secretary, both with voice and vote, appointed by the IAMO Executive Committee. The director oversees deliberations and voting, while the secretary ensures compliance with the regulations.
The Jury will follow the Principles of Conduct for the IAMO Awards, ensuring ethical behavior throughout the evaluation and deliberation process.
Art. 9 · JURY DELIBERATIONS
The jury will meet on June 5, 2025, at ESENCIA Carinsa (Barcelona, Spain) for deliberations. Deliberations are confidential, and the jury will act with independence, fairness, and rigor. Voting is non-delegable, and once deliberations begin, applications cannot be modified. The award will be given to a single winner per category, based on majority vote. In case of a tie, the jury director will have the casting vote.
Art. 10 · AWARD CEREMONY
The awards ceremony will be held on June 27, 2025, at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid (C. de Alcalá, 42, Centro, 28014, Madrid).
Art. 11 · PRIZE
Each award includes a €3,000 cash prize and a 12-month stay at Carinsa starting in September 2025.
